Psych-rock trio Dead Meadow brought their winter tour to the Troubadour, on a rainy Saturday night in Los Angeles, with Spindrift and Tsk Tsk for an amazing performance that would keep the near capacity crowd transfixed until the very end. Having just finished a number of dates supporting Wolfmother, with Silversun Pickups, Jason Simon (vocals, guitar) and crew glided through the set in a most unassuming manner allowing the music to transport the audience into their realm with ease....

Bonk
NEWS

“Every band I love, they have something in their hands and create something unique,” explains singer/guitarist Leif Koren of Norway’s Bonk. “Shitloads of bands just make a copy and don’t throw themselves inside it.” There’s really no way to properly explain what Bonk is in Koren’s eyes, as explaining art is often more difficult that it may seem. But just know that the band’s sophomore album Bonk Against Nothing (Ace Fu) has all the elements of a classic punk/rock album,...

I rode the buzz out to the Troubadour to catch the first of three nights What Made Made Milwaukee Famous would be performing in Los Angeles and quickly found it all to be true. The quartet from Austin opened their set with “Idecide,” the first song from their Barsuk Records release Trying To Never Catch Up.With very little knowledge of what the band would sound like, I was a bit apprehensive when the electro track started as they took the...
