2011 has been a red letter year for Touche Amore. The band has spent the year touring hard – appearing at festivals like FYF, SXSW, Chaos in Tejas, Hevy Fest (UK), the House of Vans in Brooklyn, and cutting a swath across most of the globe. While all that was happening, the band also released Parting The Sea Between Brightness and Me, to staggering critical acclaim earlier this summer; from the first strikes of their angular yet melodic chords, it's apparent that Touche Amore have awakened something long forgotten in both hardcore and punk: the sort of belief and rabid interest that DC bands like Rites of Spring and Ignition once carried.
Such achievements would be marks of pride for any band, but Touche Amore hasn't called it a year just yet; the band's North American headline tour commences this week which will take them across the US and Canada with Pianos Become The Teeth and others in tow. Highly coveted appearances are scheduled at The Fest in Gainesville, FL and Fun Fun Fun Fest in Austin, TX. The band is also excited to reveal that at their Los Angeles show on November 13th, they'll be playing both of their albums, …To The Beat of a Dead Horse and Parting The Sea Between Brightness and Me, back-to-back in their entirety – making this a once-in-a-lifetime event.
