Posting this actually makes me sad and happy at the same time, considering I just sold all my records, except like 5 that I really loved, or just haven’t sold yet. But thanks to my man DJ C-Town, who at the time worked at Amoeba in L.A., grabbed “Won’t Bother Me” by The Glass and just said, “Buy this shit.” I did, and played it over and over and over again…
So the news of them coming out with a proper CD is good news to me. The Dublin transplants are releasing Couples Therapy on September 25th. A seven song EP, recorded in Manhattan, Brooklyn and Woodstock New York, this disc goes from the dance floor to the bedroom and back again with a unique blend of New York Punk, Old School Rave, Hip-Hop, Indie and Madchester.
From the raucous disco of “Mad At You” to the tripped out vibe of “Green Leaves” (co produced by Depeche Mode producers Andrew Phillpot and Christian Eigner), from the drug-fueled “Come Alive” to the indie crunk of “Try Some More”, The Glass use a blend of electronics, instrumentation and classic songwriting to make dance music that endeavors to reach beyond the bassline, all the while maintaining a sense of beauty and the beat.
