Evil is lurking this summer, that’s all there is to say. Slayer and Marilyn Manson are teaming up for a tour that’s sure to bring two of the craziest groups of people together for one big show. We’ve witnessed how these things can work at tours like Sounds of the Underground, where fans of totally different metal/hardcore music can come together in harmony and co-exist like fans a Phish show—only slightly more sinister.

In case you’re scratching your head, wondering why Slayer isn’t touring with Mastodon, All Out War, Shadows Fall or just a band that feels more, well, metal. Here’s a quote from Tom Araya on why this tour feels good to him:

"Marilyn Manson puts on a great show and his fans are very loyal as our fans are. Like Slayer, Manson has had his share of controversy, and like Slayer, he's never backed down from that. And also like Slayer, Manson is outspoken and has taken a lot of grief for being that way. While there are similarities between us, there are differences too, and we think that the combination of those factors will make for a very interesting, possibly surprising, but definitely very entertaining show for both Manson fans and Slayer fans."
