It took a while to get everything (labels, band members, guest musicians, everything else one could possibly imagine) in line, but the Zero Hour is finally upon us; it was announced this morning that Queens Of The Stone Age's sixth full-length album will be released in June, 2013. The record will come out on Matador Records. It will be the band's first release for that label. It will be the band's first release of new material since Era Vulgaris came out in 2007. It will be called …Like Clockwork.

We'll let you take a second to absorb all of that.

Got it? Okay, here's some more to mull over: …Like Clockwork was recorded at Pink Duck Studios in Burbank, California by Mark Rankin and produced by the inimitable Josh Homme. It will feature drums performed by Dave Grohl, Joey Castillo and Jon Theodore as well as  musical appearances made by Alain Johannes, Sir Elton John, Mark Lanegan, Nick Oliveri, Trent Reznor, Jake Shears, James Lavelle and Alex Turner. It has been described by Homme as "an audio documentary of a manic year."

…Like Clockwork will be supported by an extensive world tour, marking Queens Of The Stone Age's return to the stage for the first time since the short string of dates that the band did in support of the reissue of their 1998 self-titled debut album. Homme has gone on the record as saying that the short tour done to promote the reissue and the rehearsals for it ended up informing much of the new record's sound. "What we were doing was kind of bluesy, and now it's turned into this trance-y, broken thing. The robots are back!" exclaimed Homme in an interview with The Guardian, talking about the shape …Like Clockwork took during recording.

At this announcement, fans are guaranteed to start foaming at the mouth in anticipation of …Like Clockwork. They'll want to know more – but that's all there is to know right now. Stay tuned!
