Nearing the end of their 2009 Pandemonium tour in support of their latest release Yes, Pet Shop Boys return to the U.S. promising another avant-garde performance. Original members Neil Tennant and Chris Lowe—with four Grammy awards, dozens chart-topping hits and more than 100 million albums sold—have historically presented dazzling visuals in their live shows. Including massive set changes, costumed dancers, video displays and an array of soulful backup singers, this tour promises to have all of the elements of their previous grand theatrical productions.
25 years after “West End Girls” hit the charts, Tennant and Lowe will be performing tracks from Yes and will also reach back in their prolific catalog including “Two Divided By Zero,” “Suburbia,” “It’s a Sin,” as well as a few surprises. Taking their place as a pioneering British dance duo, they received the prestigious Outstanding Contribution to Music award at the 2009 BRIT Awards. Does the socially-conscious PSB message still ring true with fans of electronic dance music as it did nearly three decades ago? We’re hoping Yes is not just the title of their new album. Be sure to catch one of their few remaining shows to see for yourself.
