You need to meet The Weeknd before the third album in his current series is released, scheduled to come out late this year. The first two albums, House of Balloons and Thursday, are on the highest throne possible when it comes to artistic ability and engrossing situational/emotional outpourings. The lyrical delivery of Abel Tesfaye cannot be left outside of your music collection. Even if you were to argue with me about this, every possible argument is trumped by the fact that the previous two albums are free for download directly from the artist’s home page.

Hailing from Toronto, Canada, The Weeknd is said to have his fame from Drake quoting him on twitter and being featured on one of the tracks on Thursday. The albums are musical collector’s items which have been hailed by some as the prized possessions you can introduce others to. We all know that’s why you’re here, and we all know we like to be the first ones toting the coolest new thing. With House of Balloons or Thursday, your date, house party, drug den, Bah Mitzvah or funeral will be swelling with amazement as the albums unfold.

I feel like the music of The Weeknd is built for people who are lost in the world of drugs, strippers and depression. Every track from every album screams issues and captures each one perfectly. Singing along to any track can help the world see exactly what you’re working on at the moment. Need a stripper to fall in love with you? No problem! Check out “Wicked Games” from House of Balloons. Do you have a hot but reluctant girl at your house who just came because you said you had weed? No problem! House of Balloons' “High For This” has you covered in the sexiest way possible. Have a rebound over and you need to tell her that? Thursday’s “The Zone (Feat. Drake)” has you covered. Please keep in mind that you can do the dirty while listening to each and every one of those tracks and more too; it’s like killing four birds with one stone. Totally trashed out of your mind on a drug cocktail but still have  a girl chasing you and you want to rock her world without doing anything physical in some weird way and still come out sounding like a rock star? Thursday’s  “Gone” has you all set up in a first class seat of awesome.

So I’ll finish by saying if you’re in a mid-life crisis, you just got dumped and are feeling dark, just punched your boss in the face and got fired, couldn’t pay your mortgage this month or your mom died, you’ll have two albums that you can play back to back that has your back.

Think about it and then go download it. You’ll be in a dark place someday and thank me for these free albums. If you do fall in love with it, we’re expecting a third mix tape from The Weeknd called Echos of Silence soon.
