Swedish metal gods In Flames just inked a new deal with KOCH Records to release their new album A Sense of Purpose, which will be released April 1, 2008. Over their storied metal past, In Flames released a majority of their catalogue on Nuclear Blast and were signed for a few minutes with Ferret, only to try out another label to help get this sure-to-be powerhouse album certified gold. The band’s most recent album, Come Clarity, peaked at #58 on the Billboard Top 200 Chart, and has sold 400,000 copies worldwide.
KOCH Records VP of Metal Scott Givens says, “Adding a band at the level of In Flames to the KOCH roster shows our commitment to the metal genre. They are poised to be one of the biggest metal bands in the world and we are thrilled to be chosen to help them make it happen.”
In Flames will be touring this spring as part of Gigantour, the annual tour headlined by Megadeth, in the U.S. The bands on Gigantour are hand-picked by Dave Mustaine, and the strong line-ups have made this one the leading metal tours since its inception. Other acts on the tour are Children of Bodom, Job For a Cowboy, and High on Fire.
