Once again due to a delay at the production plant, Gold Standard Laboratories is pushing back the release of BIG SIR “Und Die Scheiße Ändert Sich Immer” to February 2007. Press copies have been sent out, but please let us know if you have not received one and would like to. In their very rare free time from their other projects, BIG SIR will be playing a handful of dates in the LA area (dates listed below).

BIG SIR is comprised of Juan Alderete de la Pena (bassist for THE MARS VOLTA) and vocalist Lisa Papineau (known for her solo recordings, as well as those with AIR and M83). BIG SIR took shape when Papineau and Alderete discovered they both shared a taste for the fluid side of rock and roll while playing together in a band called PET, who were signed to Tori Amos' label, Igloo Records. They subsequently released two albums on Mootron Records, including an album of remixes featuring Dan the Automator (Alderete having performed as part of the touring band for Kool Keith/Automator’s first Dr. Octagon album). The LA Weekly describes the group as such: “Sneaking into your pants like molasses with an attitude, BIG SIR is a soulful, solid groove smorgasbord complimented with toy box nuance and subtle sonic humor”. The new album finds BIG SIR continuing to explore an askew, off-plumb expanse of grooves, both pop and jazz. Contributors to the recording include keyboardist Money Mark (BEASTIE BOYS), multi-instrumentalist Adrian Terrazas Gonzales (THE MARS VOLTA), bassist Jonathan Hischke (HELLA), as well as production on three tracks by Mickey P. (Peaches, Beck, etc.).
