Bound Stems Take CMJ By Storm
Chicago quintet Bound Stems kicked off their CMJ Music Marathon week as the featured band of the festival on the front page of the Arts and Leisure section of the The New York Times. The band played a tireless four-day, five performance run just coming off of a seven-week tour across the U.S. The band’s constant presence on the road and growing support from the press and the blog world positioned Bound Stems to be one of the breakout artists at this year’s CMJ. The response to Bound Stems debut full-length, Appreciation Night, which hit stores September 19th on Flameshovel Records, continues to build. The record is an exciting collection of intricate, explosive indie rock. The band is enjoying a short break, but will perform with Amy Sedaris in Minneapolis at the Fitzgerald Theater on Wednesday, November 15th. The show will be broadcast on Minnesota Public Radio, KCMP. On November 16th their track “Andover†will be KEXP’s podcast “Song of the Day.†Bound Stems kick off a 16-date tour with Rahim later this month.
