You don't expect a sound so perfectly poppy and polite to look like rock's second coming on a live stage, but Imagine Dragons brought exactly that kind of show when they hit the stage at The Warfield Theater in San Francisco on March 16, 2013. They made believers out of those few in the audience before them still questioning if a band without a single aggressive bone in its body could still rock the pants off a capacity crowd. It was transcendent – and Ground Control's head photographer Raymond Ahner was there to make sure there was proof.

To be fair, Imagine Dragons didn't have to exert much effort to get the Warfield audience ready that night. Opening acts Atlas Genius and Nico Vega had gone out of their way to ensure that was already taken care of – so when Dan Reynolds, Ben McKee, Wayne Sernon and Dan Playzman wandered out, took their instruments and laid into “Round & Round” after a short introduction, they didn't really have to worry about getting the crowd warmed up, they were already there. That is not to say the spectacle wasn't remarkable though; fans reached desperately for singer Dan Reynolds as he poured himself into his performances of “Amsterdam” and “Tiptoe,” and they weren't even a little phased by the surprising amount of volume produced by Sermon, McKee and Playtzman (on guitar, bass and drums respectively). The band didn't slow down as they hammered through all but two of the songs from their Interscope debut full-length, Night Visions, as well as a few choice cuts from their EPs. Those in attendance were left with their heads spinning as the band abandoned the stage for a minute before returning for a one-song encore (“Nothing Left To Say”) and then rushing offstage again. Those at the show were stunned; they'd gotten their money's worth certainly, but Imagine Dragons' show was just overwhelming.
