Awright, so, apparently i's a holiday – didja know? They tell me thit half the music business is outta town an' shmoozin' down in Texas at South By Southwest. They tell me thit every publicist thit could afford it is packin' up an' ran south ta Austin, Texas ta talk an' drink too much as they ponder the state o' da music business an' see a buncha concerts.
Sounds great right? Yeah shoor – 'cept I got one question: Why the hell is somethin' like this happenin' in Austin? Isn't Noo Yawk supposed ta be an arts an' music mecca?! Why don't things like dis happen in my town?
Ah well, let 'em drink. The way I figger it, you an' me're still comin' out on top junky, cuz whenn'ey were running so fast an' packin' so quick ta get ta da Lone Star State, those publicists dropped a buncha stuff by accident, an' yer fav'rit Don Loder wazz'ere ta pick it all up. 'At's right junky – I gotta CANNON loaded with SWAG dis week, an' it's primo junk.
The bes' o' da bes' goes like dis. I nabbed new songs from new an' upcomin' releases by da Cannanes (one o' ol' fi'dollar Billy's favrits), Amanda Palmer (okay, dis one's ben out since las' year, but da song still kicks ass an' apparently da new ting she did on Ted is somethin' ta see), Billy Bragg (who's gotta new reckid comin' out), The Baptist Generals, The View an' They Might Be Giants. Alla dem're frickin' awesome junky – but ther jus da tip o de iceberg! I scored new tunes by that house-humpin' emcee Tricky, a new one by Awolnation, new Social Studies anna new tune by Ron Sexsmith too! Alla dese're friggin' tight man; Tricky's hoarse an' hard onn'is song jus' like he used ta be back inna day, Awolnation's got a really sweet groove goin' onn'is song I grabbed, an' Ron Sexsmith actually sounds pretty sweet onnis song! He's usually all dour an' miserable an' down-tempo soundin' but what he's doin' here sounds jus' lovely.
