I want da pure shit! Not this nonsense what's been cut with electronics!" Ya say dat now, but give dis a listen – it's fuckin' great! Dis band manages a keep a bit o' the rough, but encase it inna smooth wrapper – it's jus' fuckin' cool.
Speakin' o' 'wrappers,' I nabbed a buncha tunes by dis new emcee called D-Boy. Now I KNOW dis kid ain' from 'rounna way, but he's still got mad skills; some o' dese tunes're really tight, an' really solid go sample'at!
Ann'en I grabbed the honeypot fo' ya junkie – some great rock an' folk tunes. Dis week, I founn'is playa called Walter Rose, a whole EP o' remixes by Young The Giant, a tune by dis band called The Lanskies, one by dis group called Escort. Ther's a buncha other ones too, but dese are da ones ta hear; Walter Rose hass'is really sorta seethin' voice an' frustrated demeana here, ann'it cannot be denied – ya gotta hear it ta believe it – an' Young The Giant IS angry an' metallic but (again) cut wit' electronics. 'At shit's great! Even betta izza Lanskies tune I grabbed; it's fine, growlin' garage rock thit jus' commands attention an' Escort's solid, danceable new rock.
