Signaling the non-official start to the Bay Area's outdoor Summer concert season, radio station Live 105 brought yet another "BFD" to the Shoreline Amphitheater earlier this month, and it proved to be one of their most diverse lineups yet. With three stages and a DJ tent, there was something for everybody this year, whether it was Moog infused dance music or guitar driven old school Punk Rock.

The Local Band stage featured two very promising young bands in Them Rude Boyz and Emily's Army. Them Rude Boyz, hailing from San Jose were the perfect mixture of Ska and Punk, while Emily's Army (who's drummer is the son of Green Day's Billie Joe Armstrong) were a chip off the old block, and provided one of the most entertaining sets of the day.

Over on the Subsonic stage, local electro duo The Limousines had every body in the packed-to-capacity tent jumping up and down to their synth heavy music while AFI frontman Davey Havock and guitarist Jade Puget had everyone dancing like their lives depended on it.

The Festival stage proved to have the most eclectic mix of bands, with everyone from Neon Trees to Bad Religion putting on stellar sets. Other highlights included Middle Class Rut, Scottish sensation Biffy Clyro and Airborne Toxic Event.

Of course it was the acts on the Main Stage that most people had waited all day to see, and with a line-up of Cage The Elephant, Snoop Dogg, The Strokes, and Linkin Park, it turned out to be a perfect day, and a great start to the concert season.
