Alright there youse,
Happy early Independence Day to all my guys in Sing Sing and Happy Canada Day to all my pals coolin' their heels in Kingston, north o' the border – let's plan a party for when you get out; we'll set somethin' up that'll have ya headin' back! Enough with the well-wishin' though, let's get right down to brass tacks – you know why yer here, and I know what you want.
Good thing I planned for such an occasion huh? What I've got here is sixty – that's 6-0 (not 5-0, that's how my boys ended up inna pen inna first place) – of the finest tracks that, in the spirit o' the holidays (in the spirit of ANY holiday right?), I could liberate from the powers that be. I got a little bit of everything; but there's definitely a couple of things that make my list for essential swiping here. Like this track 'ere by JJ Grey – scroll down a bit and you'll see it, it's called “The Sweetest Thing.” There is some prime shit here (the songs by Baaba Maal, everyBoy, Harvey Girls, Morcheeba, Mean Creek, N.A.S.A., Parlovr, The Wavves and The Pack are great – there are more too, but I don't wanna waste your time listing 'em all – you'll see), but if you swipe no other song, make it “The Sweetest Thing.” It is some choice – CHOICE – R&B soul like they used to make in Detroit. The full-length album comes out in August, so get this piece early an' catch this fever. If you don't grab that one, you deserve to be locked up – you know what I'm sayin'? So go get it first.
That doesn't mean that everything else here is just fat onna bone though there's some other great slabs o' meat here for your plate. Like I was sayin' I extricated some new stuff from that Nigerian chick Baaba Maal and brought it up in 'ere, some killer neo-folk courtesy of everyBoy, those crazy alt-garage kids in Parlovr served up some good an' pretty addictive shit that I swiped for you and more. A lot more – there's sixty songs 'ere, “submitted for your approval” as they say onna Twilight Zone. So go get it!
Love & sloppy kisses,
yer ever-lovin' Don Loder.
