Long-time-running Metal band Armored Saint played a one-off show at the House Of Blues in Hollywood late last month and proved that, although they may all be a little older, they still know how to deliver the goods. Armed with a set list that was as heavy on the classics as it was with songs from their new release, La Raza [Metal Blade], the mighty Saint was just as energetic as the last time I saw them, almost 25 years earlier – if not more so. "Can U Deliver?", "March Of The Saint", "Madhouse" and "Nervous Man" all sounded totally timeless, while the new songs like "Loose Cannon" "Left Hook From Right Field", and "La Raza" all blended into the set quite nicely. Even with that said though, it was the song that the band dedicated to Ronnie James Dio, "Reign In Fire," (which morphed into the Rainbow classic "Long Live Rock 'n' Roll) though, that brought the house down. It was the start of a magical weekend that took place in Los Angeles, and I was so grateful to be a part of it all.
