I think we've reached a point where Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan can be referred to in the context of "Isobel Campbell and Mark Lanegan," without having to mention their respective former bands to make the average indie-informed reader think "Oh yeah, those guys." Having said that, I feel the need to keep latecomers in the loop by naming them anyway (Belle & Sebastian; Screaming Trees, et al), and in doing so destroy my whole hypothesis. But oh well.

That ridiculous, overthought mouthful having been said, Campbell and Lanegan's Sunday at Devil Dirt—the followup to 2006's Ballad of the Broken Seas—will see its official US release on Vagrant records on November 18th. For the fans asking "why the hell should I buy a new copy when I spent far too much on this import from May?" I say this: six (count 'em, 6) new tracks (I'm assuming those tracks won't be denoted by the horribly Photoshopped "Bonus Tracks" you see on the cover art). Here's the tracklist:

   1. Seafaring Song
   2. The Raven
   3. Salvation
   4. Who Built the Road
   5. Come on Over (Turn Me On)
   6. Back Burner
   7. The Flame That Burns
   8. Shot Gun Blues
   9. Keep Me in Mind Sweetheart
  10. Something to Believe
  11. Trouble
  12. Sally Don't You Cry

US Exclusive Tracks:
  13. Fight Fire With Fire
  14. Asleep on a Sixpense
  15. Violin Tango
  16. Rambling Rose, Clinging Vine
  17. Hang On
  18. .

Yeah, that last one is just a period. Deal with it.
