Along with The National, Midlake is one of those bands that music lovers dream about. Not dream about in the way that you'd have a poster of Tim Smith with his shirt off, a la David Cassidy circa 1978. But more in the way that there is so much terrible music and all the bands that actually mean something are either dead or over the hill. So when our generation gets something that we can hopefully talk about in 2042, it's kind of exciting.
So to know that Midlake is making their way back around the country for another tour is great news. And they've stepped up the venue capicities to boot, going from low hudreds to high hundreds or even thousand-plus-person venues such as the Henry Fonda Theater in L.A.
On top of that, Midlake have managed to find time to help out The Chemical Brothers on their newest effort, We Are The Night, playing on the album's closing track entitled, "The Pills Won't Help You Now." Now the question is, when the hell are they gonna get back in the studio exactly???
