Electric Cars, a BioDiesel Bus and a 40+ Campus Takeover: Little Radio Takes a Stand as They Take Their Show on the Road!
As part of its ongoing commitment to social and environmental responsibility, L.A.-based new media company Little Radio has just announced an exclusive partnership deal with Zero Air Pollution Vehicles (ZAP), the only manufacturer of electric vehicles in the United States, to become the exclusive dealer of ZAP cars in Los Angeles. The deal is part of Little Radio’s ongoing effort to educate the public about environmental issues and alternative transportation options, refuting the claim that the Electric Car is “dead” by becoming the only company in Los Angeles to facilitate the purchase of electric cars.
Little Radio’s L.A. Electric Cars showroom, located at 1214 Long Beach Ave Los Angeles, CA 90021 will open on November 24, 2006, and will showcase the ZAP Xebra 4-door sedan and 2-door truck, both of which sell for around $10,000. The company expects to carry more than 5 different models of 100% Electric Cars by the end of next year. Little Radio will also showcase the cars at the LA Auto Show in December, and at the Santa Monica Alt-Fuel Expo on December 9th. The cars can also be viewed at http://laelectriccars.com/ .
Little Radio. Big Country.
Little Radio’s commitment to environmental awareness isn’t limited to Los Angeles. As the threat of global warming looms ever more ominous, Little Radio is also taking their show on the road in January for a 4-month long national tour, hitting over 40 college campuses and 6 of the biggest lifestyle and entertainment events around the country to spread the word about alternative fuels and transportation.
The company will travel in a 45′ BioBus powered by BioDiesel fuel, with an exterior wrap designed by artist Shepard Fairey (OBEY/Giant), and will bring several ZAP cars with them for local showcases and test drives. Hitting college campuses both far and wide, Little Radio will stop the BioBus at the biggest universities across America and play host to live performances, flash mobs, radio station giveaways and other special on-campus events. Spanning nearly the entire Spring 2007 semester, the tour will make a handful of college stops in between lifestyle events, including SXSW, M3, the Rose Bowl, the Boston Marathon and San Francisco’s NoisePop festival. The BioBus will also serve as a fully equipped mobile media center, allowing Little Radio to produce a constant stream of podcasts, video and audio content while on the road, including exclusive live performances and interviews with dozens of popular bands and artists from around the country. It is expected that the Little Radio tour will reach over 1 million people over the course of its 4-month tour.
