If there are two bands from the Eighties who compliment each other perfectly, it has to be the Go-Go's and the B-52's. Both are still going strong after thirty-plus year careers, have had numerous hits and are responsible for some of the most recognizable songs of the decade. Seems like a no-brainer for both of them to share the bill on a Summer jaunt together.

Opening the evening with "Planet Claire,” the B-52's got the near sold-out crowd on their feet and dancing right away. Along with their backing band, Fred Schneider, Kate Pierson, and Cindy Wilson delivered a fun hour-plus set which featured most of their biggest hits including "Love Shack,” "Roam” and "Private Idaho.” All three still look and sound great, played off of the crowd (and each other) marvelously and seemed to really enjoy being on stage together. The fans were definitely into every song, but it was the seminal classic "Rock Lobster” which had everyone in the venue going a bit crazy, and would leave the Go-Go's with their work cut out for them if they wanted to keep the energy level high.

Running onto the stage with big smiles on their faces, the Go-Go's opened with "Get Up and Go,” which was the perfect song to keep the fans on their feet. During "Vacation" the B-52's made a surprise appearance on stage as back-up dancers, and Belinda Carlisle reminisced about the band playing the Mabuhay Gardens at the beginning of their career before the band played "This Town.” Keeping the dance party going, the Go-Go's didn't disappoint with "Cool Jerk," "Head Over Heels" and both "Our Lips Our Sealed,” and "We got the Beat.”

All in all, it was a fun evening of Eighties music with two bands who still know how to entertain.
