Happy Mondays Fall 2009 tour with Psychedelic Furs

Monday, 14 September 2009

On tour in the US for the first time since 1991, the Happy Mondays hit the road last week, kicking off their 26-city tour. Original members Shaun Ryder, Mark “Bez” Berry and Gary Whelan will be supporting their 2007 reunion album Uncle Dysfunktional.

Along with the Mondays on this tour are ’80 stalwarts The Psychedelic Furs. The lineup includes Richard and Tim Butler, along with Mars Williams and Paul Garisto and more recent additions Amanda Kramer and Richard Good. After a decade-long split to form Love Spit Love, the Butler Brothers reformed The Furs in 2000.
It remains to be seen if the live show lives up to the images of the Dysfunktional, hard-partying, Pills 'n' Thrills and Bellyaches Madchester scene. Whether you’re a fan from the ‘80s, a nostalgic John Hughes aficionado or are simply intrigued to see the 24 Hour Party People live and in your face, you will want to definitely check out this show.
