However, instead of presenting an album that sticks to one genre, Smith’s sensibilities reach from cabaret chanteuse to rocking soul star. It’s clear she’s a woman who has summoned myriad muses in creating her sound. Smith’s strong suits are that her voice is truly phenomenal, the album is produced well and her songwriting never ventures into annoying vocalizations or useless riffs. An all around feel good rock/soul album.
